Meet our Director of Family Ministries

Carrie L. Stice

Carrie grew up in El Paso, Texas. When she graduated high school, she moved to Lubbock, Texas where she attended Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelors in Multi-Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Special Education.

Following graduation, she began working with the El Paso Independent School District, and was a teacher at Kohlberg Elementary School. She taught 1st-4th grade and also became a Reading Specialist where she mentored various teachers and worked personally with many students. During this time, Carrie received the prestigious “Teacher of the Year” award in 2014, ranking as one of the top five educators in the whole district.

In 2016, Carrie earned a Master’s of Educational Leadership from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas.

Carrie is not only the Director of Family Ministries but also is currently working as the Director of First Presbyterian Church’s Day School. Carrie has been in this position since 2019, where she meets and interacts with new families and the children, works to constantly be supporting the staff and parents, making sure the school is following children-licensing programs, as well as maintaining their Texas RisingStar Rating, (editor’s note: which is still very high, and that is great!).

Carrie has been attending First Presbyterian Church since 2017 with her three daughters: Kaylee, Kenzie and Kelsey. Carrie loves children and serving others; you can constantly find her involved in church events and enjoying fellowship with anyone and everyone. When time allows, she also really enjoys crafting and working in the yard.
